Well what a busy term we have had in Year 3 and how quickly it has flown by!
Our topic has been based around the story of "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes. We have really enjoyed the story and have produced some amazing writing. We have written letters, retold the story, written book reviews of the story and even planned and written our own Iron Giant stories.
In Maths we have been looking at multiplication and division and done some work on 2D and 3D shapes, including calculating the perimeter of 'polygons' (which are straight sided shapes!)
We saw a live web-chat with astronaut Tim Peake and were fascinated to find out lots of amazing facts about living in space.
We also did our own rocket experiment, on Science Discovery afternoon, where we used old film canisters and some water and by adding an Alka Seltzer tablet made them explode and take off, just like real rockets!
We had a fabulous D and T afternoon where we built our own huge Iron Man with the help of some very kind parents, thanks for all your help!
We also made own own little Iron Men, we had great fun and worked together sharing ideas and helping each other.
