Charlotte's Web - Spider fact files

We have been reading Charlotte's Web by E.B White.
We researched and wrote some amazing spider fact files full of interesting information. Mrs Killa doesn't like spiders but now knows so much about them!
Well done Myla for a superb booklet!

Samba (and owls!)

This week Year 3 were lucky enough to see a visitor with some Owls! We learned lots about owls and got to ask lots of questions.
We were also lucky enough to take part in a Samba workshop with Jen Gill. We learned a Samba dance and created fabulous carnival masks. We will be wearing them when we perform our dance at the ACTA centre this weekend for the Southbank Arts' trail.

Year 3 Trip to Caerleon - Monday 25th April 2016

As a finale to our topic about the Romans, we went on a class trip to Caerleon, (The Roman fortress of Isca) in South Wales.
We had a workshop and tried on Roman armour, which was really heavy! Then, we explored the Roman Museum. We were lucky that the weather was nice, so we ate our lunch at the Amphitheatre. A guide told us all about how the Gladiators would have fought in the Amphitheatre and we reanacted our own battles! After the Amphitheatre, we visited the remains of the Soldiers' barracks and saw where the soldeiers in Caerleon would have lived. Finally, we went to the Roman Bath and bought some souvenirs at the gift shop.
We had a fabulous day!

Roman - Day Making Roman bread

As part of our Roman day we learned how to make Roman bread. In English we wrote instruction for how to make the bread and then we made it and ate it at our Roman Banquet in the afternoon.
